Museums of Minsk region ↓





The network of public museums in Minsk region consists of 23 institutions: 4 museums of regional subordination (Minsk Regional History Museum, State memorial complex "Khatyn", Borisov United Museum, Ivenets Museum of Traditional culture) and 19 district museums. By profile: 19 museums are complex, 3 are Historical, and Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "Zaslauye". Preparatory work for the establishment of regional museums is carried out in Berezina, Smolevichy and Staubtsy districts.

The work is focused on the development of a network of public museums, the creation (update) of permanent collections. During the period of 2011-2014 new permanent exhibitions were created in Minsk Regional History Museum, Borisov United Museum, State Memorial Complex "Khatyn", Kapyl District Local History Museum, Nesvizh History and Local Studies Museum, Ivenets Museum of Traditional Culture, Pukhovichi District Local History Museum, Zhodino Local Studies Museum, Volozhin District Local History Museum.

In addition, the region hosts two museums of republican subordination (National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "Niasvizh" and the Belarusian State Museum of Folk Architecture and Life), and branches of the National Art Museum of Belarus, the State Literary Museum of Yanka Kupala, the State Literary and Memorial Museum of Yakub Kolas, State Museum of Belarusian Literature; as well as private museums - The museum complex of folk crafts and technologies "Dudutki" and art gallery "Yanushkevich". In April 2014 the Museum of the History of Slutsk belts was opened on the basis of RUE "Slutsky belt" (Slutsk).
